Frequently Asked Questions

I don’t know what style I want – can you still help?

Yes we can! We will discuss the steps on uncovering your design style during our consultation. Here is a short quiz I put together to help you find out what you like.

What if the designer imposes their ideas instead of getting my personal taste?

Consulting with an interior designer is not about imposing ideas or personal taste onto a client, but rather how a client and designer can work together to create a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing but functional as well.

Can you integrate my favorite pieces of furniture or accessories into the design?

Once it works with the space, it can be used! When you mix traditional and modern furniture styles you are doing away with labels to create an individualized, multi-layered living space. ... That said, combining modern furniture and accessories with traditional ones can often result in chaos if not planned in advance.

How do I prepare for my initial consultation with an interior designer?

1) Browse magazines or the internet (eg. Pinterest and Instagram) to collect photos of items and decors that catches your attention.

2) Think about styles, colors and effects that you want.

3) Know what you want to accomplish, what the room or house should do for you when finished.

4) Should it be formal or casual, traditional or contemporary, minimalist or luxurious?

5) Figure out your objective and lifestyle needs. Taking into consideration of future additions to your family if you are married. Are your parents going to stay with your family?

6) Establish a time frame in which you would like to start work

7) Last but not least, knowing your Budget!

What is the sequence of phases that my design project will go through?

Depending on the package that is right for your needs, each process varies. A highly qualified interior designer will visit your home or office for an in-depth interview to identify your design objectives and outline the steps needed to accomplish them. This first meeting usually lasts 30 minutes to an hour.

At the first meeting, we will:

1) Measure and photograph areas to be designed.

2) Create a room by room list of necessary construction, furniture, colors and accessory needs.

3) Compile client's existing materials that will not change.

Do I need a designer if I only want help with new furniture? IS ANY PROJECT TOO SMALL?

There is no project too small! We have a package specifically for this. Head over to our Services page to read more.

What if I am unhappy with your designs?

You will be walked through every step of the way. The 3D drawings we provide will present the exact way the space will look. Anything can be adjusted or changed once in the schematic phase.

Would you consider using Eco-friendly and sustainable materials?

Yes! In interior design projects, sustainable design is involved with such factors as determining efficient and effective use of space, selecting construction materials that offer low environmental impact and lowering pollution, waste and energy consumption.

Isn’t hiring a designer very expensive?

Hiring an interior designer is absolutely a luxury. But it's not only for the ultra-rich. It's actually quite common for savvy, cost-conscious homeowners to hire designers, because they are privy to a little-known secret. An interior designer can save you money in the long run.
