Why You Shouldn't Buy That Furniture Set
You’ve just moved into your new place, and you want to make it look absolutely amazing! I’m talking so inspiring that Pinterest will HAVE to do a feature page just for your place! You hit up your favorite furniture stores — CB2, West Elm, Ikea and even check out Bob’s Furniture store, and its competitor Raymour & Flanigan because you’re thinking of that amazing ‘bargain’ you might miss out on.
Your confidence is high, you’ve jotted down your likes and dislikes, but then you can’t make a decision because there were so much that you loved and it spoke to your spirit. We completely understand, trust me, as Designers it can be challenging to find the right fit for a space too. So now things become overwhelming, and you decide to go with the furniture set in the showroom catalog because it was easy….DON’T DO IT SIS!
Design is much more than matching sets! Forget about the matching coffee table and end table or the sofa and armchair. Think of your own personal style. Are you eclectic, contemporary, traditional? Whichever it may be, adding a variety of texture and a multitude of elements brings character to the space.
Try pairing that leather sofa with plush velvet accent seating and see how much of a difference your living room will be.
