It’s completely natural to get tired of the decor of your space. There are so many things you can do to refresh your home. For instance, you can change your draperies, or add a gallery wall or even paint or wallpaper an accent wall. Below, we here at Fabl & Co. came up with seven (7) quick and simple ideas to refresh your space and help you to fall in love with your home all over again. Let’s get started shall we!
Accent Pillows
Accent pillows have been proven to enhance any bedroom or living room aesthetic. You can choose between the materials, prints, patterns, just about anything. If you are looking to replace the pillow covers or change the pillow as a whole head over to your favorite retailer like Ikea or West Elm, the options are endless.
2. Plants
When in doubt, nature can be your very best friend. By providing oxygen to help us breathe better or simply taking us back to our roots, plants are super beneficial! Green thumb or not, there’s a plant for everyone! Be honest with yourself when it comes to the maintenance of a plant, some needs water every 5-10 days like the Peace Lily and then there are some that need them every 10-15 days like the Snake plant. Whichever you choose, always do the research.
3. Candles
This is practically a must in every home. No matter how advanced we get in technology, some things manage to still be a staple in our lives. Granted it may not be the main source of light anymore but definitely as an ambient lighting. It can help set the mood or simply be provided as therapy after a long day. 4. Draperis & Throws.
Maybe it is as simple as letting some natural light in your apartment to help brighten the mood of your space. Try going for a lighter material like chiffon or even a soft mesh. Layering the curtains can also add some interest to the windows. Now let’s say you just got a few decor pillows for your sectional, adding a throw can also add character to your space. And just like the accent pillows we mentioned earlier, all textiles have a large variety of color, prints, shapes and texture.
5. Art Work
Have no paintings or photographs on your walls, maybe it’s time to put up that gallery wall you so loved on Pinterest. How about the wall behind your sofa, or behind the television or even in the foyer? This is a great way to add volume and character to your space without tearing down any walls. But there is a simple math to gallery walls to ensure the placement of the different sizes fit just right. So go ahead and put up that Jimi Hendrix photo along with a printed ModCloth right next to it. There is no wrong way to what you put in a gallery wall, just make it true to you!
6. Hardware
Tired of your kitchen cabinets but can’t afford to change them? Putting on newer knobs will instantly give your cabinets the facelift it needs. The same goes for your dresser and your doors! This is an inexpensive way to add detail and character to these almost forgotten gateways.. to the other room.
7. Painting or Wallpapering
We love all things accent, especially a freshly painted wall. Adding an accent wall to your living room or bedroom brings definition to the space. But if you don’t feel up to using a paint brush then you can most certainly use wallpaper. Wallpaper or murals can be so much fun with the different prints and designs. There are a few different ways to adhere them to a wall, peel & stick method or by using some form of adhesive.
